About Newfield Horticultural Therapy Resource

Newfield Horticultural Therapy Resource (NHTR) is an educational resource established in 2007 to serve Maine and New Hampshire communities.

The mission of the Newfield Horticultural Therapy Resource is to promote individual, family and community health by connecting people to plants, gardening and nature through horticultural therapy and accessible gardens.

To fulfill our mission we provide:

Education- Workshops and in-service for health care professionals, educators, caregivers and volunteers on horticultural therapy, garden activity programming, and accessible garden design

Consultation- Consultation to individuals, schools and community organizations who wish to develop horticultural therapy programs, customized garden activities and/or accessible gardening

Programs-On-site horticultural therapy programs and garden activities for children, adolescents and adults in residential facilities, schools, community gardens and other community settings
